LOOKING GOOD...

Hope ya'all had a blissful weekend. As for me, i had a lot to do but can't complain, still enjoyed my weekend.
There is a popular saying which goes thus; ''looking good is good business''. Therefore, ladies, we have to make an effort to look good always. Beauty isn't about looking young, it's about looking good.

Looking good is not limited to our mode of dressing only but also has to do with our skin, face, hair and nails, in fact every part of our body.
Most of us actually know the basics of looking good but i must say that it's imperative to pay attention to particular details such as our skin, face & general outlook.

- In taking care of our Skin, it's important to ensure that we exfoliate at least once every week or apply facial mud. This helps to remove excess dirt and dead skin leaving the face fresh, soft and glowing.

- It's also good to use a facial cleanser every morning and night before going to bed. This should be done after washing the face. You can use any cleanser that suits your face, I use Clean & Clear (For oily skin) this is because i sweat a lot and need to ensure that i cleanse my face thoroughly. Any cleanser with cucumber or lime is also very good for the face.

- Moisturize your face regularly especially after cleansing. It's good to moisturize your skin regularly to keep it looking smooth & supple.

Use a moisturizer that contains anti aging ingredients  which can help regenerate more collagen and elastin in the body.

Drink one glass of freshly-squeezed lemon juice daily. Make sure you drink the fresh ones and not the canned or bottled ones. Fresh fruit juices contain pulp that can cleanse your system and purge out the toxins that make your skin look dull and ugly.Furthermore, lemon juice contains a hefty amount of Vitamin C that can instantly make your skin look fresh and vibrant. It also works well in normalizing melanin production.

Eating lots of fruits and vegetables is also very good for the skin also is drinking lots of water.

- Water for the Skin :

Everyone wants a beautiful, young and radiant skin and for that they try out various beauty creams & products. Have you ever wondered that looking beautiful and young can be achieved free of cost without any effort/time.

The natural element, Water has a miraculous effect on the skin as it helps to achieve a natural, radiant and glowing skin in the most natural way possible.

In addition, it's beneficial for the overall health and well being of a person as it helps in warding off various health related ailments. It's acts as a natural body purifier by removing toxins and waste from the body. Aside from it's detoxifying benefits, it hydrates, revitalizes and oxygenates the skin leading to good health which reflects through a glowing and shinning skin. Loss of water make the skin lack luster and dull.

You can try various beauty products but the fact remains that a natural glow and radiance of the skin can be achieved only through regular intake of water.

- Shaping Your Eyebrows:

Plucking the perfect eyebrow shape can be a stressful task because no one wants painful, over tweezed brows. To make tweezing easier, get a sharp tweezer and tweeze along the direction of growth of each strand of hair.

How to Pluck Eyebrows with Tweezers: The Do's and Don'ts
Many women pluck their eyebrows with tweezers. Some wax them, but wax is tricky because it’s hard to get an accurate shape. And some go to a hair removal salon to try "threading." Although threading is newly popular in the United States, it is a centuries-old technique of hair removal practiced in India. The eyebrow experts say never, never to pluck your eyebrows from above, but always to pluck from the bottom of the brow. I say, if you have some wild or stray or bushy hairs growing above your brows, feel free to pluck them. I did it once, and nothing bad happened to me.

It’s also okay to trim your eyebrows. I think this is good if the single hairs are long and thick. You can pluck some hairs and trim the others, brushing them up, evening the ends (be careful not to trim too much!), then brushing them down checking again and again as you go along.
Shape is also crucial, and if your eyebrows are coarse, creating and maintaining the ideal shape is difficult because pulling out individual hairs can leave large gaps, or severely shorten the length of a brow if you happen to pull out the half-inch hair on the very end.

- Your Hair: A woman's hair is her crowning glory. I've heard this a couple of times but let's face it, it's the truth.Visit the salon, take care of your hair, use hair products that suit your hair type. Choose to make hair styles that suit your face and generally complement your look.

Your Nails: Groom your nails as often as possible. You mustn't necessarily wear them long, they can be worn short. Infact, i think short nails are classy and less clumsy unlike long artificial nails. Naturally, nails attract dirt, lets make a conscious effort to keep them clean.

- Your Body:
True physical fitness means a body that is not only free from disease, but is strong and resilient, capable of greater energy, endurance and stamina.Such a body has the ability to perform at its peak, without showing fatigue. The physical benefits of exercise are numerous. Regular vigorous exercising increases metabolic activity, so that the body continues to burn up calorie even when it's resting.

Regular exercise not only benefits the figure, but improves the health of the skin and the hair, by supplying more oxygen to the tissues. Great, toned legs can be yours too if you are ready to take some time off your busy schedule and do some more exercise. It takes more than just running or brisk walking to attain those absolutely divine legs. You need to do regular crunches, squats and plunges. 10 repetitions everyday would guarantee leaner, shapely calves. Even simple skipping helps you to tone the flab around the waist, hips and the calves. But it must be done consistently and in a month's time you will see the results. I skip every now and then and must tell you that it works if you are consistent.

I have a friend who doesn't like drinking water that much (sure she knows my fingers are pointed at her) and i hope when she reads this, she ll xge her mind a lil...

Ve a grt day peeps!

Lotsa luv.

Living In The Shadows

Guess you must be wondering what ''living in the shadows'' means. Well, it might sound abstract but could be taken to mean several things.

- Living In the Past.
This is like living in the Shadows. I can say this 'cos i have been there before and believe me when i say that it's not exactly a pleasant place to be.
Let go of your past, live in the present. Don't waste lotsa valuable time living in the ugly memories of your past experiences or mistakes. Be yourself, use your experiences positively because you have learnt from them and not because  it hurt so bad that you want someone else to feel that pain and hurt, no...

Free yourself, Live in the present...

 - Living In The shadow of Other People
These are people that depend solely on others for their survival regardless of the fact that they have opportunities and resources to establish themselves and stand on their on. I like to refer to this as ''living in the comfort zone''...
Take for example, in some parts of the world, their are children that depend on their parents even until after they must have attained and surpassed the majority age while others become independent right from when they feel they can fend for themselves. Some people from wealthy homes choose to stay in the comfort zone where they can be pampered and taken care of whether they work or not.

They dream that one day they will inherit their parents' wealth/assets! From my perspective, this is a lazy man's dream. Yes, could be true that they will get an inheritance eventually, this doesn't mean that they should wish their folks an early grave so that they can realize their own selfish dreams. Even when the wealth is flowing from every nook and cranny in your life, you should endeavour to build your own empire, have your own life, dreams, passions and accomplishments. Go out there and make a name for yourself, touch as many lives as you can and become somebody.

No matter where we all start, it's something...better than not starting at all. Could be a Small Scale Business, or a Corporate Organisation, whatever it is, you are developing yourself gradually and on your way to creating a life which is yours.
Add value to yourself, to your life and don't sit around waiting for something to happen, make something happen...

Be realistic & be creative!

Cheers peeps!

Weights: Do We Really Need Them?

Yesterday, I went jogging with my friends and instead of taking a walk with my 2kg dumbbells, i decided to jog with them but eventually got tired of holding them and gave up.

Afterwards, i was supposed to do some aerobics with them but was soo tired, so i didn't and decided to do it next time. Yeah, yeah, i know shouldn't have given up that easily. Sometimes, we need to motivate ourselves to get things done especially when it comes to working out.

I read an article recently and learnt that the effects of lifting weights is beneficial to pple of all ages. If combined with aerobic activity, 2-3 weight lifting sessions every week can help manage your weight, develop greater strength, reduce/eliminate pains in the muscles/joints and also increase energy and endurance.

Though, lifting heavy weights is not an easy task at all but it's worth a try for those that intend to build up large muscles especially the guys or on a lighter note ladies that wana go for the olympics! Means you will be ready to look masculine, that's what several weight lifting sessions can do to the female body. The only benefit is that you develop muscles hence no space for flabby biceps.

I have made a decision to do a weight lifting session at least 3 times a week, not bad at all considering all the benefits...hope you have too!

Cheers peeps!

DANCING...

Dancing is definitely one of my hobbies for which i have a deep passion. Sometimes, it's a way for me to keep fit while having fun and staying flexible.

I know so many people have different opinions about dancing. For some it's just a way to relax, have fun, entertain or an excuse to show off new dance steps...whatever it is, it's dancing...
Though, i must confess that I dance in my room! don't think that's a bad idea at all! who says you can't dance in your own room? Practice those steps and moves you have always imagined that you can never pull off.

As for me, i don't have to go to a club or a party before dancing. Sometimes, i secretly wish i ended up being a dancer. Though i luv music, but not sure i can sing without croaking (Laughing)

Given the chance, i will have a dance studio where i can dance as much as i want without any inhibitions.

Dancing helps to reduce stress and makes me feel good. Every dance, no matter what style, has something in common. It not only involves flexibility and body movement, but also physics. If the proper physics is not taken into consideration, injuries may occur...depends on the type of dance though, ''lets' do the little we can'' and don't say i said so!

Shake it off a bit sometimes, dance as much as you can whenever you can and bet you ll luv every moment of it!

Cheers peeps!
