7 benefits of regular physical activity!

Ever gotten addicted to exercising? Here is your chance and as for me, whenever i stop exercising for a while i actually do miss it. Exercise is good for everyone, but do you know how good?

Want to feel better, have more energy and perhaps even stay younger and live longer by God's grace? Look no further than exercise. The health benefits of regular exercise and physical activity are hard to ignore. And the benefits of exercise are yours for the taking, regardless of your age, sex or physical ability.
Check out these seven ways exercise can improve your life.

No. 1: Exercise controls weight
Exercise can help prevent excess weight gain or help maintain weight loss. When you engage in physical activity, you burn calories. The more intense the activity, the more calories you burn. You don't need to set aside large chunks of time for exercise to reap weight-loss benefits. If you can't do an actual workout, get more active throughout the day in simple ways — by taking the stairs instead of the elevator or revving up your household chores.

No. 2: Exercise combats health conditions and diseases
Worried about heart disease? Hoping to prevent high blood pressure? No matter what your current weight, being active boosts high-density lipoprotein (HDL), or "good," cholesterol and decreases unhealthy triglycerides. This one-two punch keeps your blood flowing smoothly, which decreases your risk of cardiovascular diseases. In fact, regular physical activity can help you prevent or manage a wide range of health problems and concerns, including stroke, metabolic syndrome, type 2 diabetes, depression, certain types of cancer, arthritis and falls.

No. 3: Exercise improves mood
Need an emotional lift? Or need to blow off some steam after a stressful day? A workout at the gym or a brisk 30-minute walk can help. Physical activity stimulates various brain chemicals that may leave you feeling happier and more relaxed. You may also feel better about your appearance and yourself when you exercise regularly, which can boost your confidence and improve your self-esteem.

No. 4: Exercise boosts energy
Winded by grocery shopping or household chores? Regular physical activity can improve your muscle strength and boost your endurance. Exercise and physical activity deliver oxygen and nutrients to your tissues and help your cardiovascular system work more efficiently. And when your heart and lungs work more efficiently, you have more energy to go about your daily chores.

No. 5: Exercise promotes better sleep
Struggling to fall asleep? Or to stay asleep? Regular physical activity can help you fall asleep faster and deepen your sleep. Just don't exercise too close to bedtime, or you may be too energized to fall asleep. Used to exercise close to bed time and never get to sleep early, had to do it earlier.

No. 6: Exercise puts the spark back into your sex life (For married couples o! laughs)
Do you feel too tired or too out of shape to enjoy physical intimacy?  Regular physical activity can leave you feeling energized and looking better, which may have a positive effect on your sex life. But there's more to it than that. Regular physical activity can lead to enhanced arousal for women. like seriously? And men who exercise regularly are less likely to have problems with erectile dysfunction than are men who don't exercise.

No. 7: Exercise can be fun
Exercise and physical activity can be a fun way to spend some time. It gives you a chance to unwind, enjoy the outdoors or simply engage in activities that make you happy. Physical activity can also help you connect with family or friends in a fun social setting. So, take a dance class, hit the hiking trails or join a soccer team. Find a physical activity you enjoy, and just do it. If you get bored, try something new.

The bottom line on exercise
Exercise and physical activity are a great way to feel better, gain health benefits and have fun. As a general goal, aim for at least 30 minutes of physical activity every day. If you want to lose weight or meet specific fitness goals, you may need to exercise more. Remember to check with your doctor before starting a new exercise program, especially if you have any health concerns.

Need to go and revive my working out drive, ASAP!

Te Quiero...

I don't pretend to know what love is for everyone, but I can tell you what it is for me; love is knowing all about someone, and still wanting to be with them more than any other person, love is trusting them enough to tell them everything about yourself, including the things you might be ashamed of, love is feeling comfortable and safe with someone, but still getting weak knees when they walk into a room and smile at you...love is friendship & respect, love is kind and generous...It takes God to feel the deepest kinda love.

A loving relationship is one in which the loved one is free to be himself -- to laugh with me, but never at me; to cry with me, but never because of me; to love life, to love himself, to love being loved. Such a relationship is based upon freedom and can never grow in a jealous heart.
So if you ever say those words 'I Love You'  better to mean them.

What does love mean to you?

Thots on Marriage….culled from FN

Today, i am appreciating the work of another author, this was a great piece, a must read, a fresh reasonable outlook … i loved it. what do you, dear readers think?
——
If you’re not ready to delay gratification when your are angry. To hold your tongue, lower your voice and sometimes wait till the appropriate time, day or even month before you can deal with an issue thoroughly…. don’t get married. Immaturity is the inability to delay gratification. Marriage is for the mature.

If you’re not ready to leave center stage and allow someone else to become your focus, your study, your muses… don’t get married. Selfish people make very bad spouses. In marriage you don’t lose yourself but your heart has to be big enough to gain someone else. And soon, with God’s blessing: little, crying, diaper soiling, demanding little ones are coming!

If you are not ready, to stand up and calmly deal with meddling in laws as a united front: The opinionated sister, the insensitive uncle, the domineering father, the manner less brother, the nosy aunt….. don’t get married. Boundaries do not exist automatically, they must be created. A good spouse is committed to respectfully stand up for and protect their marriage from meddling relatives. Don’t abandon your spouse to your relatives. It’s betrayal.

If you are not ready to pay bills…. don’t get married. Love does not pay bills. Kenya power will not give a waiver because your love is O so strong and your gazes at each other, O so romantic.
If you are not ready to let go of your opposite sex “best friends” and invest that into your spouse. To like, to laugh, to play, to be silly and to enjoy life with them, above anyone else… don’t get married. Affairs happen because people did not marry their best friends. Someone else holds their heart. Someone else gets them better. Someone else inspires them more. Marry your best friend and cultivate your friendship so that you remain best friends.

If you are not ready to stop competing with the Joneses…. don’t get married. Let the Joneses buy their yatch when you are still walking, and enjoy the walk. Your journeys are different. They may have to cross the oceans but you may be going through the road route. A boat might not do you any good on your journey. You must be ready to pace yourselves: stop competing, stop spending your future before you get there, stop the debt, stop trying to impress people. You must be able to be content. To enjoy your journey without deciding your happiness simply by measuring your progress against other people.

If you are not ready to be an open book. To tell the whole story of your past, deal with the memories, expose the failures and risk rejection…. don’t get married. It is fraud to have someone sign off their life to you without the full details. The past is a touchy and demanding friend. It always shows up in the marriage. It doesn’t enjoy being ignored and the more you snob, the bolder it becomes and the more tantrums it throws. It will mess up the “neat” and “all together lovely” image that you are struggling to maintain.

If you are not ready to let go of your philandering and wild oats farming…. don’t get married. Don’t take somebody’s son or daughter and subject them to your germs, your indiscretions and your chips fungaz. It never ends well. It’s romanticized in the movies, it’s being fronted as the only “realistic” way to stay married and keep the fire burning. But truth be told, the only thing that the fire will burn will be you, your spouse and your children. That family will burn for generations in bitterness, disease, fear, failure, hatred, broken hearts, broken dreams and conniving.

Finally, if you are not ready to let go of the adrenalin rush ofa risque life and to settle down…. don’t get married. The great Colombus [who we were told "discovered" America, Have you ever wondered if the Native Indians who were in it, knew that it existed :-) ] had a diary that was long sought for. People wanted to read about the wild journeys, the sea tempest, the reckless pirates they fought, the death and the danger they must have encountered. When it was found, there was great disappointment. Majority of the pages simply had 5 words: “This day, we sailed on.”.

Marriage, like life in general, has many “we sail on” days. You have to learn to find the thrill in the normal everydayness of it. If you depend on wild romance, all night sex [ha], romantic cruises, wild parties, compulsive moves across continents, tempestuous fights and make up sessions to be happy, you may be disappointed. You have to learn to thrill in gentle smiles, loving hugs, knowing looks, cozy moments, shared chores, cute babies, everyday work, dreaming together, praying together and simply living together. If these things are not thrilling, exciting and satisfying, you will look for a way out. The “boom twaff” moments are still there, but they are normally punctuations to the usualness of living. They cannot be your reason for getting married. They are unsustainable on an everyday basis. The one you choose must be thrilling to you even in the most mundane of moments.

I pray this helps someone. Remember singles, YOU HAVE THE PRIVILEGE OF CHOICE. Never let anyone pressure you into marriage. You are either ready or you’re not: You decide!. But please don’t marry somebody and then punish them to live with your childish ways for the rest of their lives :-) . A childish baby is cute but a childish adult is extremely frustrating.

Marriage is for the mature and in many ways, the married, are still being confronted with the demand to grow up day by day. If you are not ready for that demand, think twice!!!!

Reflections...Thots...

Hi peeps, yeah, i know it's been ages since i last posted  a blog, been up to lot lately but promise to make it up. Was just reflecting this morning and decided to share my thoughts and a friend's with you all.

Almost every day, there is one sad news or d other, poor lives are lost in accidents, attacks, etc. Just yesterday 153 people crash landed to their death. People of various works of life, with different faiths, different ethnicity,  they were bided safe journey, they spoke to their loved ones, who told them they would be waiting to pick them up at the airport, little did they know that that safe journey was indeed for a different destination.

So, it is the day after, and some of us have moved on with life, a few of us would mourn a little longer, update ur bb, fb and twitter pages a little longer, for the families that lost loved ones the pain would linger longest, but in the end life must go on, we would all pick up what is left and move on.

Yes it is important that we move on, but it is even more important that we reflect on this mishap. Life indeed is short, so we have to make the best of it. I know it is easier said than done, but it is the truth. Imagine how the people alive who  have grudges with the people that have died would feel, imagine if you lived this life procrastinating and life ended before you got around actualizing that dream.

So as you read this I really hope it provokes you to reflect on your life, imagine if d one closest to you had to speak about the life you lived and your character, what would you want that person to say…

As I end this, I feel it is necessary to share these few words of advice:- don’t sweat the small stuff, love with all your heart, be less judgmental, don’t be so vain, pray hard, forgive easily and let go, communicate, go after your dreams, your inner most desires, be generous and kind to people around you, just give and don’t expect anything in return, stay positive and live everyday like it could be your last.

May God keep you, bless you and all that concerns you.

Have a blessed week peeps.

Luv you all.

Positive Attitude + Easter Greetings!

Hey guys...must say that i have missed blogging for a while. Being my first blog for the year will love to share a few words with positive attitude and i really hope i improve *wink.

I have this friend who is always very happy and cheerful no matter what, wonder how he does that. Though i try to be cheerful most times and not dwell on irrelevant issues but come on, we are but human and there are days you are excited, days you feel down, days you feel so sober, days you are hyper, etc could go on...lol
Most of all, i really appreciate the fact that he is cheerful, sometimes it rubs off and you can't help but  join him in that very happy mood. It's great to appreciate life and what it stands for, the true values, family, friends and all that matters.

To all my friends, live life positively, touch lives when you can and remember that the smallest kind gesture may mean a whole lot to some people. Even a smile, a kind word or a hug works wonders and helps warms up the heart...wear a positive attitude as often as possible and i think you might just be like my friend who is ever happy and appreciative no matter what.

Happy Easter in advance!

Luv always,
Moi

Hidden Talents!

Hey people...trust ya'all had a fabulous weekend. As for me, my weekend was quite eventful but the highlight of it was discovering some of my hidden talents! *winks. lol

Listening to music is definitely one of my favourite hobbies but sincerely, i haven't tried singing in front of people before. Well it happened that i did for the first time during a Karaoke session. It was fun and didn't know that i had it in me to sing with so much fun and passion. Let me hail myself small 'cos my voice isn't all that fantastic but i enjoyed every single moment of it!

Also discovered my passion for cocktails...*this one is new o! A friend actually taught me how to make simple and easy cocktail drinks with a variety of fruits and soft drinks..here is the easiest one i learnt;
Cocktail : Cosmopolitan cocktail isolated on white Stock Photo

Tropical Cocktail :
Put some ice in a wine flute
Add a little beverage like berry juice or currant
Add a slice of water melon, pine apple and lemon
Garnish with a slice of Orange/any citrus topping ...Viola'!

There are several other types of nice cocktails you can make in the comfort of your home with a blend of a variety of fruits of your choice instead of the rather boring straight up drinks...here are some:

Cocktail : Tropical cocktails isolated on white Stock Photo
Tropical Cocktails close-up isolated on white...

Nice isn't it...looks delicious too...yeah that's it peeps...try and explore your hidden talents and discover something new about yourself...try something new, do something differently and check out the results, you did be surprised what you might discover about you!

Have a fabulous week!

Cheers!

How time flies

Hey peeps...trust ya'all doing great! It's a good thing today is Thurs o! just can't wait for tomorrow to come 'cos am seriously looking forward to my weekend...A very close friend of mine is tying the knot, soo giddy happy for her. Memories of our childhood are still very vivid in my head... remember when we were both little, running around in classrooms and playing pranks, how time flies.

Now i watch the clock going tick! tuck! tick! tuck! before you know it, another year will pass by... Time waits for no one, make una do better things with your time o!...time wasted can't be recovered. Sometimes i wish i could turn back the hands of time but again, i am kinda glad that's not possible 'cos i luv to look forward to the 'morrow...a new day and a very bright and happy future..*big smile!

I have a couple of favourite quotes on time...lemme see, hmmm...ok here are some of them:

Time is money.” – Benjamin Franklin  ... here is d remix (big grin)...Time na money*9ja
''You delay, but time will not.” – Benjamin Franklin
“Time lost is never found again.” – Benjamin Franklin
“All the flowers of all of the tomorrows are in the seeds of today.”- Chinese Proverb
“Live each day as if it be your last.” – Marcus Aurelius, 140 AD
“Never leave till tomorrow that which you can do today.” – Benjamin Franklin
“Be willing to make decisions. That’s the most important quality in a good leader. Don’t fall victim to what I call the “ready – aim – aim – aim – aim syndrome. You must be willing to fire. ” – T. Boone Pickens.
“Start by doing what’s necessary, then what’s possible, and suddenly you are doing the impossible.” – St Francis of Assisi

Yeah, yeah....there are a few others but i like to focus on these ones...Have fun spending time doing what you like to do, what you need to do, what you have to do, achieving your goals, realising your dreams and most especially enjoy being you and don't waste too much time living in the shadow of other people's dreams...

Catch up later...

Take care peeps!

Appreciate Life!

Hey peeps, so sorry i haven't blogged in ages, been so tied up...i promise to make it up to ya'all...A couple of things have happened to me lately but in all i still thank God Almighty.
Appreciating life is about appreciating who we are, where we find ourselves, those around us and life generally.

Recently, a great man passed on, this man touched so many lives, mine inclusive. He was a very humble man who was full of wisdom  & knowledge and understood that life was just a passing phase. He told me about perseverance and patience and learning to avoid procrastination. He was so jovial, always happy, puts a smile on everyone's face where ever and when ever...
He loved and cared for his family & friends so passionately and was deeply loved by many...only a few people attain a certain stage in life and remain humble. Yesterday was his wake keeping and he will be laid to rest today.  May God comfort his family and grant them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss cos truly no one can replace you Mr. Adegboyega Babalola...RIP Bablo.

As you appreciate life, you become more valuable both to yourself and others. After all, life is really a gift. It might not always seem like that’s true, but it is. If nothing else, it’s a gift of discovery. So I appreciate that!
Not trying to make anyone sad but to bring us to the realization that life is short and we should cherish every day and every moment with God in our hearts.

Have a fabulous weekend peeps!

Peace.

The Blissful Month of June!

It's a beautiful day with a cozy weather...a 'lil cold but nice. Although, it's wet, it's the beginning of a new month! This past month was kinda eventful for me but all the same i thank God for making me witness the beginning of another wonderful month.

I felt so blessed when i opened my eyes this morning to the dawn of a new day and the beginning of a new month...indeed, God is awesome! Sometimes we face certain challenges in life but one thing that is certain is that  they will blow over because everything that has a beginning must certainly come to an end. In every situation, we should remember to thank God and appreciate His presence in our lives, no matter what.

As for me, i am giddy happy right now, why? 'll say it's because i feel so blessed to be where i am today, to have a family and friends whom i deeply love and most importantly to be alive.

Memories make up a part of our human nature but be sure to keep the good and do away with the bad ones...live your life as best as you can and try not to have too many regrets.

Have a wonderful month peeps!

1luv.

Stop the Violence!

Innocent lives have been taken, children and Youth Corpers who are supposedly the leaders of tomorrow have been murdered in countless numbers, families have been displaced from their various homes, properties worth billions of Naira have been destroyed, houses of worship have been burnt down.

The question is, does this violence change anything? And to think that the destruction of lives and properties is as a result of the post election riots in the country which are largely spear headed by Northern youths...(Really depressing)

It saddens my heart so much that after a peaceful election, these riots ensued all because of what? As far as i know, don't know if it is politically or religiously inclined anymore...All i can say is that past tribal/religious violence have had a disastrous effect on the affected areas and of course, caused a massive setback in the general lives of the affected people and it is time for it to stop.

Great Nigerians, let's all embrace peace and say no to violence, riots and general unrest...for this country to grow, we all need to live together in peace and support our leaders. My prayer is that our leaders realize that there is a lot to be done and that Nigerians are looking up to them to really turn things around this time for the betterment of the nation.
1 Nation, 1 Nigeria....May Peace reign in our heart, homes and every part of our country, Amen!

Have a blessed day peeps.

1 luv!

Thank God it's Friday! i am really happy today is Friday, not for any particular reason, just looking forward to the weekend. But come to think of it, this week was kinda really fast...guess we are in the season of longer days and shorter nights (signing) Though, i prefer shorter days and longer nights, i am sure almost everyone does (wink!)

Since there is restriction of movement from 10pm, guess hanging out plans are out 4 d night crawlers unless for 'those pple that have some kinda immunity' guess we know them...
I look forward to every single day of my life especially my weekends, then i can do some chores, run some errands for me and generally connect with myself and my peeps..do stuff i usually can't get done during the week...let's face it, weekends are meant for relaxation but these days, it sometimes doesn't happen that way...all the same, it's good to make the best outta the time we have for ourselves no matter how short.

Have a cool Friday ya'll and a grt weekend...remember to cast your vote and vote right!

Cheers!

New BBB 'lil Angel...

There is this overwhelming  feeling of joy and excitement that comes over me when i am just too happy. This was the way i felt when my friend put to bed. I just could not hold back from spilling the good news and was at it until i ran out of airtime...pheww!  dat was easy, continued on my BB of course! Every1 was overwhelmed with joy.

Then i remembered how she battled with morning sickness and other changes in the early months of her pregnancy till she got over it...God be praised 'cos He was faithful till the very end.

May God watch over my little angel jealously every single step of the way as he grows and may he be a blessing unto his entire family...Amen!

As for every mother to be or yet to be but will be soon or for those that are praying for such a blessing, God will surprise 'em all. May God grant us all our heart desires especially those that are the very best for us.

Ve a grt day peeps!

Resourcefulness: The Ability to Find A Way

Knowledge they say is power, while experience is a good teacher. I recently learned a lot more about resourcefulness and 'll like to share my experience with ya'all.

Being Resourceful is the ability to think creatively, to generate ideas, and to identify alternatives. Resourcefulness is imagination, the ability to visualize how something could be achieved when there is nothing there but the vision.
To be resourceful takes self-discipline and an iron will. First, self-discipline enables the belief that there is a way to achieve the outcome. Second, it takes an iron will to ignore the naysayers, the devil’s advocates, and those who simply lack resourcefulness themselves and so have no interest in your success.
It also follows these attributes, Optimism, Competitiveness and initiative. It builds upon these attributes which reinforce each other. You need to be resourceful to take the initiative, and taking the initiative is in itself a form of resourcefulness.

Ask yourself these questions:
Is there another way to get what I want?
Is the desired result really the best result?
Who else has information that might help me?
What is something very similar to what I need that might also work?
Who is the expert in this area?
What is one more thing I can try?
What would someone I admire do in this same situation?

Don’t reinvent the wheel
Look for a solution that someone else has already created. It might be a book, a software program, or someone’s existing checklists or procedures. You can learn almost anything from a book. If there is something I need my computer to do, I immediately think that someone else may have already written a software to address it. Even if you want to re reinvent the wheel.

Leverage your network
Build and maintain a network of people you can call on for questions and support, and make sure you make yourself available to these same people when they need help from you. New networking choices like LinkedIn can be invaluable for finding more avenues and options. People from various backgrounds, fields, industries, and even age groups can provide tremendous objective insights.

Learn everything you can about how to find information
This is very important and with the aid of several search engines, this can be achieved with ease and it’s also important to know how to obtain information by narrowing down your searches.

Teach resourceful habits to your family and your team at work
If your children want to know some information, teach them how to look it up themselves, and show them reference books other than just the dictionary. When your team members come to a meeting with a problem, make it part of your company culture that they are expected to also show up with a proposed answer to that problem. Make sure that initiative is encouraged.

Resourcefulness = Necessity + Creativity + Persistence
If you’ve ever written information on a piece of paper or sold of something you really like but know that you don’t need, you can consider yourself resourceful already! We are all capable of exhibiting great creativity and persistence when something is important, so make it a point to expand and practice these skills.

The Importance of Resourcefulness
With the recession forcing us to make do with what we have, being resourceful is now a necessary skill for today's generation of leaders. It is not simply a matter of doing more with less. Rather, what's important is the realization that you can do more with less because you and your colleagues are more capable than you first believed.
Resourcefulness is not a means of coping with deprivation; it can be a virtue that opens the door to greater accomplishment. Based on my observations of what resourceful leaders do, here are some suggestions for being resourceful.
You must first start with an open mind. "Redefine the possible - Being open minded about new possibilities is critical to putting resourcefulness into action. The leader who steps up and says "yes we can do this" is one who can push colleagues to do things that some might consider impractical.

Turn innovation inward. Resourcefulness is about optimizing what you have to work with. Innovation is not just about creating something new; it also applies to making old things work better. For example, an experienced mechanic can do wonders in car repair with a combination of after-market parts and his own resourcefulness. We see this same spirit in maintenance of large facilities —  be it buildings or other specialized facilities. Those who service them may not always follow a manual; they diagnose problems and figure out what tools and materials there are at hand to fix them. Call it resourceful innovation.

Choose specifics. If you're thinking of the bigger picture in the short term, it may be tempting to consider ways to re-invent how to do things better. Adopting a realistic attitude about what you can do in the short term might be more productive. That is, think revising specific tasks as well as specific roles and responsibilities, bearing in mind simplicity and cost reduction.
Resourcefulness, while critical now, should not be reserved just for hard times. When prosperity returns, relying on one's ability to do more with existing resources and lead people to do the same will be a virtuous behavior.

Utilize your inner and outer resources, works wonders i believe.

Remember that 'The human mind is our fundamental resource'.

The Joy of Motherhood...

There is this feeling you get when you behold or hold a new born Baby, that sweet gladness and absolute wonderment of the awesomeness of God. Peeps, you must be wondering why am talking about babies, yeah the truth is I love children…I mean who doesn’t? They are so cute when little but once they begin to grow, they become little handfuls but we still love them no matter what.

I was blessed to watch my kid sister grow from a baby to an adult that she is now.  I used to beg to change her diapers  and feed her  but my mum would only let me hold her when she was just a few months old, was just in my teens back then. But as my ‘lil sis grew older, I was allowed to rock her to sleep, and even sometimes feed her. Could remember, she would hold her tiny toes,  pull her hair and make those little noises that just makes you long to hold her more.

Mothers are special so are fathers, but there is this bond between a mother and child that no one but God understands.  Mothers are a blessing to families and loved ones, they should be loved and cherished.
God bless you mum, bless all mothers and mothers to be, and bless us too with the strength and grace to raise our kids when the time comes.

Make your mum feel special today, let ‘em know you love them, hug ‘em, pamper ‘em and spoil ‘em as much as you can ‘cos they deserve all of that and much more!
I love my mum & dad! and am grateful to have them in my life... yeah i know everyone does but we need to let 'em know how special they are to us from time to time.

Ve a grt day peeps!

Nathaniel Dwayne Hale

Guess you guys must be wondering what's behind that name..he was popularly known as Nate Dogg..he was one of the pioneer Rap artist with a soulful voice who had a unique way of rapping and connecting with his fans, me inclusive.

Yes, he was that good, though he wasn't so popular but he was unique in his own way and i will certainly miss him and miss his music. Though i am a fan of rap music, Rapper's like Nate Dogg don't come by that easily...

He passed away on March 15 at the young age of 41! due to a congestive heart failure along with complications related to his previous strokes. Yes, he had a stroke before sometime in Dec 2007. Am sure his friends and collaborators like Awa, Warren G, Ludacris, Snoop Dogg, Xzibit, Erykah Badu, Ice-T, Warren G, Eminem, etc..will miss him.

My favourite album by Nate is Music & me which was his 2nd studio album, released in 2001. It's really cool and will suggest you listen to it,maybe then, you will understand why that soulful voice of his got to me and millions of other fans..

A Prayer for Japan...

Hey peeps, been a while..yeah, been kinda very busy but that ain't gonna stop me from reaching out. My heart goes out to the people of Japan...kids who have lost their parents, families who have been separated from their loved ones and rendered homeless, massive loss of resources...all, as a result of the disaster that recently struct the country.

Every now and then, we pray for peace and God's mercy upon our lives and so far God has been faithful to us. As for Japanese, the crisis that struck their country on the 11th of March is beyond what they ever imagined could happen , guess they never saw it coming. The earthquake and tsunami have caused extensive and severe damage in Northeastern Japan, leaving thousands of people confirmed dead, injured or missing, and millions more affected by lack of electricity, water and transportation. A week after the twin disasters has left more than 6,500 dead and over 10,300 missing.

Japan Earthquake 2011

What about the children that their parents and families are now where to be found? Well, i learnt that UNICEF is doing all that it can for these kids but they need support from the whole world. Let's all join hands together and reach out to Japan, they really need all the help that they can get.

If only the nuclear plant was not affected by the earthquake...that's another issue which Japan authorities are presently battling with to avert a nuclear crisis and have been on this for a week and 2 days...

There are several relief fund programmes online, though some people are actually reluctant to make any contribution because they wonder if these monies are actually been used for the intended purpose. Do bear in mind that even if this happens, you have actually touched a life or a couple of lives by reaching out with your funds in your own little way. I am certain there are other ways we can all reach out no matter how little we think it is...one of these ways is through our prayers...
Nigeria is so blessed in many ways, one of which is the fact that it is not prone to natural disasters and i pray that we don't wake up one day to an earthquake/tsunami, Amen!

Japan needs all the help it can get both from relief efforts/funds and our prayers. So many people are yet to be found, the economy has suffered a massive set back. My prayer is that God shows the Japanese & Japan as a whole mercy and also see them through these trials...Amen!

Show some luv peeps, God bless us all!

Food for the Soul...

Some say laughter & music is food for the soul. True talk indeed! but most importantly, the word of God is the main food for the soul...

A friend of mine told me this story some days ago, this is a real life story; A guy wanted to propose to his girlfriend and decided to do that in a cozy restaurant across his street somewhere in Ikoyi. Well, guess where he hid the ring? in an apple! which she was supposed to eat! I laughed so hard till i had tears in my eyes . That got me thinking, what about if she had swallowed the ring? Then off she goes to the OR for a surgery to bring out her engagement ring! Or what about if she had bitten into the very spot where he inserted it  and ended up cracking some of her dentition?

Well, i'm sure he had a significant reason for hiding the ring in an apple. Wonder where all the romantic ideas went, but to end the story, she was fortunate to have seen the ring before bitting the piece of apple and on his knees he went...they are both happily married now.

Also heard of a marraige proposal at a Motor park where the guy sat in the Bus, looked at his babe and said ''u go marry me?'' All join, that's the way they have chosen to express themselves, that's what makes us unique as humans, one man's poison is another man's food.

Just felt i should share this, being a good way to start a Monday morning with laughter and joy in your heart.
Take some time off to laugh, listen to whatever music you luv, a good sense of humour isn't bad at all, laughter is medicine and remember that with God all things are possible...
Have a blissful week peeps.

Peace!
